EPP-CoR Coronavirus Task Force
Villages, cities and regions are at the forefront to fight the spread of the pandemic, taking concrete actions on the ground and mobilizing all their resources to provide solutions that our citizens need. Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) have been facing not only a health crisis but also an economic one. They have taken key decisions to step-up health resources, support SMEs, safeguard jobs, supporting the elderly and vulnerable people while doing their best to facilitate education online.
Notwithstanding all ongoing efforts, it is clear that the coronavirus pandemic will have significant and long-lasting repercussions on various sectors.
For this reason, the EPP-CoR Group has set up a Coronavirus Response Task Force. The Task Force's mission is to act as a hub to collect, gather, define and communicate the EPP-CoR positions to the coronavirus response measures at multi-levels of governance and relevant initiatives.
The Task Force's objective is to monitor measures, debate and bring to the wider attention initiatives that protect families, workers and the most vulnerable, support the businesses and provide for a long-term plan on future pandemic preparedness. The Task Force will also assess actions focused on a sustainable economic and social recovery that reach Europe's villages, towns, cities and regions.
