CoR Plenary session December 2019

The last Plenary session of the 2015-2019 mandate of the Committee of the Regions takes place on 4-5 December in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels. The Plenary session starts with a debate on the State of the Union from the perspective of regions and cities with David Maria Sassoli (S&D/IT), President of the European Parliament.

CoR Plenary Session October 2019

The October 2019 CoR Plenary session kicks off with the official opening of the 17th #EUregionsweek at the Hemicycle of the European Parliament on 7 October with the theme "Regions and cities, pillars of the EU's future".

On 8-9 October, members of the CoR gather for the Plenary session where they will hold a debate on regional development policy beyond 2020 with Younous Omarjee, Chair of the REGI Committee of the European Parliament.

CoR Plenary Session, June 2019

On 26-27 June 2019,  the 135th Plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions takes place in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The first day of the Plenary will see a debate on the localisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals with Jyrki Katainen, Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness and the upcoming Finnish presidency.

CoR Plenary Session (134)

On 10-11 April, Members of the European Committee of the Regions meet at the 134th CoR Plenary session in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Plenary session starts with the launch of the 'Cities and Regions for Integration of Migrants' Initiative with Dimitris Avramopoulos, Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship. Members will also hold debates on a future EU budget that matches the ambitions of Europe's cities and regions and on fundamental rights and EU values.

CoR Plenary session (133)

The Committee of the Regions' first Plenary session of 2019 takes place on 6-7 February in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament. The first day kicks off with a debate on the future EU programmes for education, culture, youth and sport with Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. Other topics include a presentation of the priorities of the Romanian Presidency, as well as a resolution on Combating hate speech, following the tragic murder of Paweł Adamowicz, Mayor of Gdansk and member of EPP-CoR in January.

CoR Plenary session (132)

The 132nd Plenary session of the Committee of the Regions takes place on 5-6 December 2018 in the European Parliament. Highlights include a debate on the future of the Cohesion Policy with Corina Crețu, Commissioner for Regional Policy as well as a debate on Brexit with European Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier.

CoR Plenary session (131)

Members of the Committee of the Regions met in the 131st  Plenary session on 8-10 October 2018 in Brussels. The Plenary session took place during the 16th European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC).

On 8 October, members of the CoR participated in the opening session of the EWRC at the Square conference centre, with the participation of Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission.

CoR Plenary Session (130)

The 130th CoR Plenary Session is taking place on 4-5 July in the European Parliament. Highlights include a debate on the 24th Session of the of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24), including measures for the full implementation of the Paris Agreement, with Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy and Ashok Alexander Sridharan, Mayor of Bonn.

CoR Plenary Session (129)

The 129th Plenary Session of the European Committee of the Regions will be kicked off on Wednesday 16 May with a thematic debate on culture. Participants scheduled include Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and Audrey Azoulay, Director-general of UNESCO. The following day, CoR members will exchange views on the MMF with Günther Oettinger, Commissioner for Budget & Human Resources.
